American History X

one of the best movie all time for me is the "AMERICAN HISTORY X", a movie about Racial Security, Racial inequality, Racial Discrimination, Friendship, Education, Family, Social Responsibility and their influence on the neighborhood in a certain community in the United States.

the story was of a boy named "Daniel", he was a confused young boy, studying in a public high school. he was very confused that he wrote his school paper about his wrongfully beliefs about the so called "White Power". influence by his incarcerated older brother, he is proudly walking his brother's footsteps which was notice by his smart and knowledgeable High School Principal. which the principal take actions to prevent a historical disaster in "Daniel's Family" which happened to Derek back on his High School days.

Daniel was a smart young man who was inspired by his Brother to follow his footsteps to the abyss of wrong understanding.

Sweeney the principal red the paper of his student Daniel about teachings of some dude, a lunatic dude who believes to that the white is more superior than other race that, the other race must suffer and not to be able to rule the whites.
so Sweeney talks to the professor of Daniel about what Daniel wrote, but he declined to make Daniel unlearn his beliefs, instead Sweeney makes a nasty decision to make Daniel unlearn his false beliefs by making Daniel write another paper about his incarcerated big brother or he will be left out and kicked out of school, so he Daniel decided to write it anyway.

Daniel felt a lil bit awkward about the paper but he must write it or else he is doomed, his future is doomed. so he write a piece of his brother.

Derek who was charged of Manslaughter was guilty and was incarcerated in a super max security prison, was released because of his parole was approved. but he walk away from the not knowing from anyone that he is a changed man(Jail time really changes a person).

when Daniel was on his way home he stood upon a basketball court which his brother was made a legend before he was incarcerated. he was thinking about his brother the whole time, and interrupted by his Mad black Schoolmate, he saw his Black School mate and then smirk and then a half fake smile was delivered to his black school mate which made his school mate hide his angst about Daniel,. his black school mate was talking to another black dude who is confirming about Daniel's attitude among the blacks. but Daniel just walked away without any remorse and thinking about his brother.

Daniel walking home was nearing his house when he RAN as fast as he could just to see his released brother from the prison. he saw him and hugged him so well.

Derek was never been like this because he hugged despite of the state where he wasnt able to touch his loved one, but he hugged his family.

*keep the story short*

on the evening there was a party on Cameron's(the teacher of Derek about his false and wrong beliefs about his race) place, the place of the white'd gang having a party where Derek was worshiped like a God. he confronted Cameron and says he was out. out of the gang life and out of being worse. Cameron disagreed and didnt allow him, but Derek insisted, and Daniel was out too Derek said to Cameron,.
Cameron told Derek he cant make his brother leave the Gang, Derek lost his temper and punched Cameron on the face and kick his guts,

Derek left the place hurried. and was followed by the gang. Derek was found by his mad brother Daniel asking him the question why.

Derek told him about his prison story and how did he change his beliefs.

after Derek got imprison by man slaughtering the black dudes who tried to boost his wheels.
he was incarcerated, and by the second he stepped inside the prison. he was scared and being fearless he has nothing to fear about. Derek makes himself notice to other white guys that he was a prodigy of hitler's beliefs,

Derek having faith with the white gang, was a great mistake.
he was raped by his fellow whites. and left bloodied and beaten in the shower room.

so he stayed away from his so called gang the white but instead he was all by himself. he knows that time will come that he will be dead by the blacks. but it never came, because he talk his problem with his black prison-industry co-wroker about his problem.
he wait for months and months but the day when the blacks beat him did never came.

and then he was released. he thank his coworker for the protection but his coworker denied such accusation. but instead he thanked him anyway.

he told his story to his younger brother and made him change his mind about the gang.
they removed all the posters and pictures about white power on their room that signifies all the wrong beliefs Cameron has told them.

Hoping to start a new life. Daniel Finished his paper.
on the way to school, Derek was stopped and called by his parole officer about someone shots Cameron to death. but he refused to know because he is out. Derek said he will help after he take his brother to school.

Daniel was about to go to class, but before going to class he was gone to the comfort room holding his report paper and was shot by his black school mate.

Derek rushed back to the school to see his brother laying on the comfort room floor holding his report paper and bathing with his own blood. Derek cried "no!"...
my own opinion:
the writer makes you want to hate the ending because after all that they've been through, after the change in their beliefs, his brother suffered all of it, by giving his life up. its just so sad to happen to those who wants to have a change for the better.

i just wished i know what would Derek do. will he go back to his old life or just stayed where he stand.

11 years back, and still this movie makes you want to think.

"think about all you have done, and think about how did the things you do make you life better"
